Dry and smooth, this Pinot Gris is a wonderful food friendly wine. Barrel fermented and aged in older French oak gives this wine a round mouthfeel, smooth texture and extra complexity.
With flavours of peach, Bartlett pear, yellow apple and hints of spice, this Pinot is slightly rich with tons of flavour. A great brunch wine, serve slightly chilled with quiche, smoked salmon, pierogies, chicken pot pie and dishes with light cream sauce.
Harvested from hand-tended vineyards by long-standing growers for Peller Estates and from our estate-owned vineyards. Barrel fermented and aged in older French oak barrels for 8 months for added mouthfeel, texture, and complexity. The wines were blended just before bottling.
FLAVOUR PROFILE
A straw yellow hue from extended barrel maturation. A fruit-forward bouquet of yellow apple, Bartlett pear, peach, and a touch of spice. This aromatic and flavourful Pinot Gris has a slightly rich, smooth yet refreshing mouthfeel and flavours of ripe tree fruits and melon, followed by lingering notes of lemon, apple, and spice.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS
Serve chilled at 10 to 12°C to enhance the freshness and acidity (citrus notes) of the wine or serve not overly chilled at 13 to 15ºC to showcase the richer fleshier fruit flavours. Enjoy with mushroom and onion quiche; smoked salmon dishes; perogies with fried bacon and sour cream; Tilapia baked with leeks and mushrooms; lightly spiced crab cakes; pan-fried fresh-water fish; pan-fried scallops; chicken in a light cream sauce; chicken pot pie; shrimp skewers; black bean dip with unsalted tortilla chips; salmon and cream cheese pin-wheels; mild Gouda cheese.
